Okay let me just applaud this episode because Portia is beautiful and has sexual appeal, has a dominant edge, is portrayed by a woman of color and is a familiar that takes the form of a dog and the writers did not demean her or rob her of dimension for any of the above?

This shouldn’t be so rare that I want to applaud a show for doing it. This should be normal and expected and demanded. But it isn’t and I’m grateful that after such a stupidass comment like “women being half-naked and tortured sells”, this episode soared past it and left it in the dust.
