Thank you so much. I don’t know why my self-esteem was acting so wanky earlier today, but I feel a bit better now. I got myself distracted with chores, baking, and guests. I’ve got this really horrible problem of always comparing myself to other people and just…not taking the time out to see any good in myself. But I don’t want to bother you with rambling, kind anon.
Thanks again. If we don’t talk already, I hope I can befriend you! If we do, I’m so lucky to have you. You paid me huge compliment. You’re phenomenal.
My writing is not everyone’s cup of tea. Previously, you could blacklist/tumblr savior my fanfiction through my personal tag, ‘shut up nai nai.’
I’ve changed something up. If you want to specifically avoid my fanfictions, please block out the phrase ‘tsadde writes‘
Thanks!
And there are millions of teens who read because they are sad and lonely and enraged. They read because they live in an often-terrible world. They read because they believe, despite the callow protestations of certain adults, that books-especially the dark and dangerous ones-will save them.
As a child, I read because books–violent and not, blasphemous and not, terrifying and not–were the most loving and trustworthy things in my life. I read widely, and loved plenty of the classics so, yes, I recognized the domestic terrors faced by Louisa May Alcott’s March sisters. But I became the kid chased by werewolves, vampires, and evil clowns in Stephen King’s books. I read books about monsters and monstrous things, often written with monstrous language, because they taught me how to battle the real monsters in my life.
And now I write books for teenagers because I vividly remember what it felt like to be a teen facing everyday and epic dangers. I don’t write to protect them. It’s far too late for that. I write to give them weapons–in the form of words and ideas-that will help them fight their monsters. I write in blood because I remember what it felt like to bleed.

anything by Mario Vargas Llosa, Junot Diaz or Zadie Smith!! also Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem :))I’m really interested in trying Junot Diaz. I hear great things and I’ve read a few lines from random books I’ve seen at a nearby B&N and I really like his narrative voice- you also suggested Life of Pi the other day, so I’ll check that out, too!
I’m always reading classics, and I want to take a small break from that- it’s been a couple of years of that, to be honest!. Any modern fiction recommendations?
lumalore replied to your chat: Watching the Swimming Anime Commercial
Apparently, it might just be a commercial. It’s categorized under “CM” on the official KyoAni site…idk how to feel. Betrayed or relieved?
I feel the same way! I was just telling my friend today that I wanted to give some short anime a shot, maybe, and if the show wasn’t just a cheap jab at fanservice, I would’ve at least watched the first episode, lol! The fandom reaction is absolutely insane though.

OMG, ESTEFANIA, LOL. I’m sorry, but his ass was ALL UP on that screen, okay? I can’t believe it took us 5 minutes to stream a 30 sec video.
LOL HEY, AT LEAST YOU’RE HONEST. Honestly, I found it hilarious that I’m that dense, that I’m focusing on the background instead of the butt that’s front and center on the screen, lol. Today was hilarious- also, I’m dying from where I’m at, too! I see it on my dash and I laugh (half at us, half at the agonized fandom)
I received a message from an incredible friend and I am blushing and my cheeks hurt from smiling and golly gee, I can’t form coherent sentences all I can do is sit here and fawn
If Vicki runs the facebook page for her book, The Jet Sex, then that means she liked my comment on one of her posts today. You do not understand. I was beaming. I got the notification over my phone and I was over the moon in class. It’s silly, I know, but I respect her so much that knowing the comment was liked by her (possibly) means a lot.
Gosh, in a perfect world, I’d meet her in person and we could sit together and speak, and she could just blow me away with how marvelous she is.

That said, I want to get back into modern fiction. If you’ve got recommendations, please share them with me!
Fandom’s acting a little wanky right now so I’m going to talk about something totally unrelated and then pretend nothing’s happening, per usual.
Did you know tragic parallels exist in real life? It’s not just limited to fiction, guys. For example, yesterday night I took an incredible bath with a wonderful soap and bubbles and I came out with the softest legs you can humanely imagine. And just 20 minutes ago, I had one of the coldest, most horrifying showers of my life because someone decided to use all the hot water for themselves in for what turned out to be a one hour and a half-long shower.

literally same here omfg i want them to meet SO BADLY
Same here, guys! Great minds think alike, haha. The photo made me wonder if they will meet, as we know Charlie’s returning, but with the rumors and supposed spoilers of what’s happening with Cas in 8x17, I don’t know if them meeting is actually going to happen right now. Still, I’d love to be wrong! And, we do still have all of season 9!
